Go-karts, quad bikes, ziplines, ropes courses, paintball and virtual reality games in one adventure park, about an hour north of Kampala.
Extreme Adventure Park is an outdoor adventure park in Busiika, north of Kampala, at Plot 331 Musiniro Road. It opened in 2014 and has become a favourite for company team days, school outings and groups of friends.
Few places near Kampala pack so much into one site. A group can race go-karts in the morning, try the high ropes after lunch and finish with a virtual reality battle as the sun goes down, all without moving venue. It suits mixed groups well: the brave can take on the zipline, while others cheer from the ground or play ball games.
This is a day for your own group: laughing together, cheering each other on and sharing a meal at the end. Mlinza Farm, a family-run farm in Zirobwe, is nearby, so a company day can pair adventure with a farm visit and a big local meal.
The park is open all year. Dry days are best for karting, quad biking and the ropes. Outdoor activities run from 9:00 to 18:00; the virtual reality games run until 22:00, so they also work on a rainy day or in the evening.
Busiika is about 40 km north of Kampala, off the Gayaza to Zirobwe road. Allow about 1 to 1.5 hours from Kampala, depending on traffic, and about 1 hour more from Entebbe. Our open day trips leave from Oryx Fuel Station, Lugogo; private groups set their own pickup.
Most activities are Level 1 to 2, Relaxed to Easy. Each activity has its own age rules; virtual combat games are for ages 12 and up. Wear closed shoes and clothes that can get dirty. Group prices are quoted for each group.
