Our lakeside home town and your first and last stop in Uganda: botanical gardens, rescued wildlife, Ngamba chimps and Mabamba shoebills.
Entebbe is a green, easy-going town on a peninsula in Lake Victoria, about 40 km south of Kampala. It is home to Uganda’s international airport and was once the colonial capital. For most visitors it is the first and last stop in Uganda. It is also our home: Two Servants is based in Banga-Nakiwogo, Entebbe.
Before or after a safari, Entebbe is a relaxed place to rest, adjust to the time difference and still see a lot. The lake, the trees and the birds are everywhere, and the airport is only minutes away.
Entebbe is a fishing town as well as an airport town. Near our base at Nakiwogo, boats come and go from the landing, and a fresh fish lunch by the lake is a simple way to share the day with the people who make their living from the water. For a full people day, Ewaffe Cultural Village in Mukono is about 1.5 to 2 hours away.
Entebbe is good all year. Lake trips are calmest in the morning; afternoon storms are more common from March to May and October to November.
Entebbe International Airport is in the town. Kampala is 45 minutes to 1 hour away by the Kampala to Entebbe Expressway.
Most of Entebbe’s sights are easy, Level 1 to 2. UWEC is busy with families on weekends and school groups on weekdays in term time. We welcome meetings at our Entebbe base by appointment only, so please call or WhatsApp us first.
