Sipi Falls is a set of three waterfalls on the slopes of Mount Elgon in eastern Uganda, with views over the plains far below. On this weekend trip you travel from Kampala to Mbale on the first day, with a games challenge and a city tour, and spend the night in a hotel.

The next morning you drive up to Sipi for the three waterfalls hike with a local guide: you feel the spray of the falls (the “water massage”), visit a cave behind the falls and walk through farms and forest. Brave travellers can abseil down beside the main falls (optional, extra cost).

Highlights

  • The three Sipi waterfalls hike with a local guide
  • A cave visit and the spray of the falls
  • Optional abseiling beside the main waterfall
